While yoga may seem like a relatively mild form of exercise, when practiced regularly, one can achieve many of the same results that a more intense workout. Unlike more intense workouts such as cardio or heavy weightlifting, yoga is less impactful on joints and leaves students feeling relaxed and centered. Where Does Yoga Come From?
Yoga is an ancient and complex practice rooted in Indian philosophy. As yoga grew in popularity, it also became known to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
The form of yoga as known in the United States places a strong emphasis on three arms of classical yoga focuses: yoga poses (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama), and meditation (Dyana).
