Yoga Nidra, also known is “yogic sleep”, is a guided meditation practice to help promote deep relaxation. It has been said that 1 hour of yoga nidra is equal to 4 hours of sleep.

Restorative yoga is a gentle, slow paced yoga practice, where we move into supported yoga positions, often with props and blankets and is designed to provide the opportunity for deep relaxation.

Yoga nidra follows a specific format developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, helps offer the opportunity for deeper relaxation. In Yoga Nidra, you are guided through imagery and relaxation techniques to offer your body and mind a deeper sense of relaxation. While you will stay aware during the practice, your brain experiences increased delta waves, which are associated with the state our brain goes into during deep sleep.

Restorative yoga has been proven to help reduce stress, improve sleep, boost mental clarity and relax the nervous system.
